What do I think?
I have used this scanner in a few abdominal and cardiac cases as well as on Pippi . Overall I was pleased with the image I achieved for such a low budget machine.
The downsides are that it is only compatible with microconvex and linear probes, not phased array, but it does come with Power/spectral Doppler as standard and can be upgraded to include colour Doppler. Therefore this is ideal for the first opinion small animal practice who need a low cost ultrasound machine for basic scanning but who might also be planning to advance their skills into cardiac scanning and ultrasound guided sampling in the machine’s lifetime.
I scanned with the microconvex probe and the linear probe. The linear probe gave good images at low depths and I used the microconvex probe for cardiac and abdominal cases which it managed reasonably well at.
Summary
In summary,
Pros: Great value and logical layout.
Cons: Does not come with Colour Doppler as standard.
