What do I think?
I recently had the opportunity to trial the Mindray Vetus 7, and it left a very positive impression. Sitting in the £10-15K bracket with one probe, it represents strong value for a cart-based system with this level of capability.
A Standout Feature
One thing that particularly impressed me was the behaviour of the CW Doppler. When you are in CW Doppler mode and move the trackball, the top image moves again — so if your patient shifts slightly, you don't have to fully come out of the mode and go back in to reposition. That is a really practical, time-saving detail that makes a real difference mid-scan, especially with a wriggly patient.
Practicalities
Both robustness and portability score 4/5, reflecting a well-built cart system that moves around the clinic easily. All Doppler modes — CW, PW, TDI, CDI and Power Doppler — are included as standard, which is excellent at this price point. The machine also includes basic DICOM with the ability to send to PACS, MIL worklist, DICOM reporting, ECG, iScan images, auto ejection fraction, and wi-fi connectivity — a comprehensive feature set that you might not expect at this price.
